Ortoalresa presents the new version of its customised configurator for the selection of centrifuges

Centrifuges have become an essential element in nowadays  laboratories, playing a crucial role in the success of sample analysis. In order to choose the right solution for each laboratory and to fit each working procedure, a process of analysis and research must be carried out given the wide variety of options that can be found.

To assist our customers in this effort, we have implemented our configurator tool.

We created this tool with the aim of simplifying the selection process through a series of quick steps. Based on user experiences, and taking into account feedback and suggestions from our customers, we have evolved our previous configurator, simplifying the selection through six easy steps.

The process of choosing a centrifuge

The task of choosing the right centrifuge can sometimes prove to be challenging, given the multitude of options on the market and their link to one or more specific applications.

However, it is the needs of each user that will set the search criteria. Since it is the application that sets the tone for the configuration of the centrifuge, the first question to ask oneself is what applications will my centrifuge be used for?

With the application clearly in mind, the next questions would be: is temperature control needed?; what type of tube do I generally use, and how many will I need to centrifuge per cycle?; do I need an angle fixed or swing out rotor?; what working speed do I need for my protocols? These basic questions play a key role in the selection of the most suitable equipment, and will be used as a perfect guide as we go through the selection process with the configurator.

A quick selection with our new configurator

After evaluating the needs of our customers, we have concluded that action must be taken, and with the aim of facilitating this selection process, we developed a tool to facilitate the process of searching and selecting the most suitable centrifuge for the needs of each of our customers.

Our configurator presents six steps, which must be followed through the selection of a series of parameters. Each step contains a brief introduction that explains the importance of the value of the selection as well as with a short description of the available options.

Our tool will carefully analyse each piece of information and will present all equipment options that meet the indicated conditions. The results page shows full information about the equipment, the option to download their catalogues, the rotor and adapter options, and all the technical characteristics of the equipment.
